If
you could give God a gift, what would it be? After all, He did give us
the GREATEST gift of all time - the death and resurrection of His Son
that forgave our sins and set us apart for Him.
The quote at the top of this note came from a girl who attended last weekend's Break Out middle school conference. She was one of dozens of kids who shared their experiences with us. "I gave myself to God." It's such a simple sentence, yet it holds such power. It speaks volumes about the incredible life-change that this girl underwent at Break Out.
Other kids shared:
"Break Out helped revive me and see what I can do for God."
"I grew in grace and I know better now what to focus on for Him."
"I got to renew my faith in Jesus."
"Last year, I said 'yes' to God, but then I got off track. So I said 'yes' again this year and am commtted to truly follow Him."
In addition to those testimonies, several youth leaders told us about the spiritual and emotional healing they saw taking place. One wrote on his event evaluation form that he really benefitted from the small group discussion times because he found out that his kids were getting more out of the conference than it appeared. Others told us that kids began to talk about some very deep hurts and abuse going on in their lives....things they might never have talked about if the issues weren't addressed at Break Out.

Scores of kids surrendered their lives to Christ, sought inner healing and came away from Break Out more passionately in love with our Creator! As I stood in the back of the hotel ballroom where the main sessions were held, I was amazed over and over at how clearly God reached so many hearts in such a little time.
I also have to say that our conference did not succeed without God gathering an outstanding team of artists, speakers, staff and volunteers. Each year so many of these people look forward to serving at our conferences - they see it as both a ministry and a blessing...an excellent combination!
